Hey… hello internet, and welcome back to another Wednesday workshop from DealerOn.
S: Some of you PPC addicts out there are familiar with Adwords Editor and I’m guessing many of you are not. This week we’re talking about Adwords Editor 12. So, let’s first get on the same page. Adwords editor is a free download from Google that helps you manage your AdWords campaigns. So, if you’re managing your PPC yourself or for others, you’re probably using AdWords Editor.
Yeah, AdWords Editor allows you to make account changes offline and users love the bulk change functionality. There are many features available in Adwords editor and every so often… Google upgrades this tool. If you’re a DIY PPC Jedi, you may have heard about the most recent upgrades, but for all of you PPC Jedi in training… something new now you will learn.
First of all, it’s the biggest upgrade to AdWords Editor in three years complete with a new look and some very useful features. Aesthetically, the tool finally looks like the rest of Google’s product suite. Which makes sense because Google is extremely committed to consistent brand standards.
So, it’s prettier… let’s talk about new features starting with the addition of “Maximize Conversions” available at the campaign level under the “Bid Strategy” drop down. This feature taps Google’s machine learning to automatically set bids to chase a maximum conversion rate for your daily budget. Expected, but cool feature. Just don’t use it and go to sleep at the wheel.
Another new feature is Google’s big list of custom rules. This is actually very helpful for those young PPC Jedis because Google’s best practice list is comprehensive and inside the editor it help users know if their campaigns are in need of adjustment before being uploaded to AdWords. Pretty helpful to young Jedis, but there’s more…
Yeah, if you’re running display ads you’ll like new editable fields for responsive ads like call to action text, logos, promotional text and price prefixes. There are also new upgrades relative to those running campaigns for Apps and Google says more upgrades for the AdWords Editor are on the way soon.
I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. That’s all the time we have for this week, but as always, you can drop your questions or comments down below and we’ll get back to you ASAP. Don’t forget too join us next week for another Wednesday workshop from… DealerOn.
