Google has gifted us with some pretty cool updates this year, almost like it’s Christmas! Plus, Christmas has come a second time this year; gifting us with six GMB updates to improve your organic presence.

Welcome to another Wednesday Workshop from DealerOn. Christmas has come twice this year; and this time, it’s Christmas in July! Just when we thought Google had gifted us with enough updates, it rolled out many more. This week, we’re going to share with you six updates to Google My Business and how you can take advantage of these recent gifts.
First, you can now get customers’ attention with welcome offers. Just like creating special offers for people that sign up for your newsletter, you can now offer users who follow your business on Google a special discount; maybe a percentage off of their next service appointment, or a gift card for a test drive. This is a great new way to get your customers invested in your brand.
Second, you can now claim short names and URLs for GMB. Look at it as claiming your Twitter handle for your GMB profile. You can use your shortened URL to send people to your listing, making it easier for them to leave you a review.
Third, logos will have a more prominent view now, as long as your core information is correct. So, make sure your name, address, phone number, hours, and any other crucial information is complete on your Google My Business profile.
Fourth, any photos uploaded by your business will now appear instantly in a new dynamic module on your Google My Business listing. Now, you can put your best foot forward with these visual updates; and soon you’ll be able to add captions to the photos.
Fifth, if your business needs additional marketing tools to help push users to your listing, things like posters, signs, stickers, and more, you can create all of this for free on marketingkit.withgoogle.com. You can even use this toolkit to create high quality social posts using your own reviews!
Sixth, and this is the biggest takeaway: you can now set your own cover photos! You can finally get rid of those user-uploaded photo of your business that has been featured on your listing for way too long.
That’s all the time we’ve got for today’s video. As always, if you have questions or comments, leave ‘em down below and we’ll get back to you shortly. Thanks for watching, and we’ll see you next week with another Wednesday Workshop from DealerOn.
