DealerOn sites will no longer support Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Find out why and what this means for your dealership in this DealerOn University.
What is happening?
Microsoft has formally ended support for Internet Explorer as of June 15, 2022. As a result, DealerOn has decided to end support for the browser as of August 1, 2022.
Why is this necessary?
With the end of formal support from Microsoft, dealers and car buyers using IE are exposed to serious cyber security threats and vulnerabilities. After a careful analysis, we have determined that this risk is disproportionate to the actual usage of Internet Explorer (our current server data shows that IE usage in the US and other markets we serve is less than 1.5 %) and will therefore no longer support the IE browser for any of our applications including but not limited to the consumer facing website platform and our CMS. We believe this is in the best interests of all parties and will allow us to continue to build and deliver class-leading marketing technology solutions for the automotive community.
