Facebook rolled out a global update this morning to the ubiquitous Like button. After years of hearing complaints that there was no “dislike” button, Facebook has added several new Reactions to the like button.
This week’s video explains how to access the new reactions on both desktop and mobile, along with showing what each one looks like. Check out the video for all the details…

Welcome back to another Wednesday Workshop with DealerOn! Today, we’re talking about the brand new additions to the Facebook Like button that rolled out this morning.
For years, people have been asking for a “dislike” button – many times, it’s not appropriate to click “like” on someone’s post. For example, if I post that my prized chinchilla died in a freak exercise wheel accident, and one of my friends clicked “like” to express sympathy, it looks really bad… And I’d probably end up mailing them a box of dog turds.
Facebook listened, and rolled out reactions globally to both desktop and mobile. It’s a really seamless experience too – if you just want to like a post, nothing changes… you just click “like”. If you want to use another reaction, just hover over the like button on desktop or hold down the like button on mobile. The available reactions will appear and you can choose whichever one you’d like.
Instead of showing total “like” count, posts will now show total reaction count, along with the icons of the most popular reactions.
If you haven’t seen them yet, here are the new options:
Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, Angry
Notice – there’s still no “dislike” button – but I’m sure everyone will just use the Angry reaction instead.
So that’s the skinny on the new Facebook reaction options – I’m gonna have to end it here, cause I need to go troll the heck out of the Fox and X-files page with dislike reactions over that awful ending to the X-Files.
But before I go, as always, if you have any questions or comments, leave ‘em down below, and we’ll get back to you shortly. AND – don’t forget about our VIP karaoke party at NADA! If you wanna get in on the karaoke competition and win the $500 prize, submit your YouTube video to shaun@dealeron.com. Thanks, and we’ll see ya next week for another Wednesday Workshop with DealerOn.
