Welcome to another Wednesday Workshop from DealerOn.
Local SEO is one of the most important and poorly understood aspects of a complete SEO strategy. Today we’re going to go over what Local SEO is and how you can leverage it best for your store.
Google considers certain searches—like those for restaurants—to be local searches under the assumption that anyone who wants a particular restaurant is searching for the closest one. For example, if you Google pizza places at home, you’ll get a different result than if you do it at the office. Car dealerships, being largely local businesses, operate under the same rules.
As important as Local SEO is for a complete picture, many dealerships neglect it outright, or else go for simple fixes that don’t work.
You want to be on the first page of a Google search, but there are a limited number of spaces available to appear on, before you are going to get bumped to that dreaded page 2!
Advertisers are going to eat up a large amount, if not all of the above the fold results, leaving a limited number of results for your dealership to rank. Trying to get into those coveted organic spots on page 1 takes work.
Local SEO, like Traditional SEO, isn’t something you can do once, set it, and forget it, unfortunately your rankings aren’t assured. Google is constantly tinkering with their algorithm and other businesses won’t stop jockeying for that coveted first page. At DealerOn, we’ve spent the last decade helping our dealers optimize their dealerships for local search, so we can keep them where they need to be. On page 1.
We implement a proven strategy made up of 4 key “pillars of SEO”. They are: on site signals, off site signals, social signals, and review signals.
On site signals cover everything we impact on your website itself, including meta data, website content, whether page elements are optimized/ user friendly, and that all of your On-Page info is correct, consistent, and complete.
Off-site signals cover link building, building new citations, and other offsite elements that point back to your dealership. With link building such an important ranking factor making sure you’re doing it correctly is integral to the future success of your dealership.
Social signals make up your social media presence.
And last but not least, review signals are all about your reputation management, a vital part of SEO, and more importantly an increasingly important part of your customer’s decision-making process.
DealerOn addresses each one of these points with care, experience and precision to bolster your local SEO.
